Job Summary

Responsible for managing financial operations of the Company such as handling various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Works closely with the finance team and reports to the Accounts Manager.

Requirements / Qualifications

  1. A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field, having experience in the maritime industry and professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is an advantage. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for this position.
  2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  3. Proficient in using SQL Accounting Software and MS Office applications and general computer knowledge.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Analytical mindset and ability to interpret financial data.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  8. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

1. Financial recording and reporting

  • Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • General financial reports and provide insights on financial performance to aid in the decision-making process.

2. Accounts payable and receivable

  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
  • Manage and reconcile accounts receivable, including issuing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers, customers, internal stakeholders to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.

3. Bank and cash management

  • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring that bank statements match the Company’s records.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and manage petty cash.
  • Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for account-related matters, such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan documentation.

4. Financial analysis and budgeting

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and insights.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
  • Participate in financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

5. Taxation and compliance

  • Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax, VAT/GST wherever applicable, and other applicable taxes.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in handling internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

6. Systems and process improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, streamline workflows, and implement automation where possible.
  • Contribute to the selection, implementation, and maintenance of accounting software and systems.

Salary Range

RM2,500 – RM3,000

Currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Maritime Logistic , Transportation , Mechanical Engineering or related field from a recognized institution of higher learning with good academic achievements.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Demonstrate the ability to build meaningful relationships. 
  • Able to demonstrate analytical thinking skills and a positive mindset.


  • Assist Technical Manager in daily vessel operation affairs.
  • Prepare Technical monthly reports and assist in monitoring offshore vessel movement.
  • Coordinate with Contractor for Repair & Service Work Arrangement. 
  • Assist General Manager with various HSEQ Event Organization related to Safety Campaign.
  • Communicate & coordinate with Procurement Manager to assist in Vendor Evaluation & Auditing work.
  • Building Database for Manning Department, thus Liaising with Manning Head.
  • Other tasks & responsibilities as required.
